This document describes how Polestar processes your personal data when you use the Polestar in car video application (the “Video App”) and the services Polestar provides via the Polestar website that is made available in the Video App (the “Polestar Services”).
Polestar Performance AB, a Swedish legal entity with company registration number 556653-3096 with address Assar Gabrielssons Väg 9 405 31 Göteborg, Sweden, hereinafter referred to as “Polestar”, “we” and “our”, is the controller who will process your personal data as described below.
The data we process about you is processed solely for the purpose to immediately anonymise such data so it cannot be tracked back to you. In order to anonymise the data, it is shared with Google. The data we share with Google for immediate anonymisation is the following:
When you are using the Video App, Polestar compiles and processes the following data: device ID, device browser, device IP address, car model and model year, which country you reside in, information on whether the car is standing still or moving, downloads, resets and uninstalls of the Video App, Video App updates, operating system updates, data regarding the notifications you receive, channels used, and engagement frequency, screen views, length/depth and context in relation to use of the services provided in the Video App.
When you are using the Polestar Services, Polestar compiles and processes the following data: information in relation to the use of videos provided on Polestar’s websites, such as if a video starts, pauses, is completed, is replayed, how long it has been played, etc.
The data compiled and processed as set out above is considered your “personal data”.
When the personal data has been anonymised, we are not processing any data that can be connected to you, but only aggregated statistical information from Polestar cars in certain regions. We process such information in order to gain insights into how the Video App and the Polestar Services are used and improve your experience of the Video App., i.e. for research and development purposes. We use Google tools to better understand user behavior and improve the usability and reliability of the Video App.
The legal basis for this personal data processing is your consent, which you have provided before the data is collected in relation to the placement of cookies. You have the right to withdraw your consent at any time by uninstall or re-install the Video App.
The personal data we process is compiled directly from you. The processing does not include any automatic decision making, such as profiling, of you.
We will disclose and share personal data with Google in order to anonymise the personal data. We may disclose the anonymised personal data to our affiliates and business partners. No personal data that is not anonymised will be disclosed to any business partners located outside of EU/EEA.
There will be other services available in the Video App than Polestar Services, and links to third party websites. We will not share any personal data with these third parties. In the event you are using the services of such third parties, they may process personal data about you in accordance with their own terms and privacy policies.
We will retain your personal data until it has been anonymised or until you withdraw your consent.
You have specific legal rights granted by the GDPR relating to the personal data we process about you. You can withdraw your consent or object to our processing of your data, access the data we hold about you, ask for rectification or restriction of your data, request to have your data ported to another entity, request that we delete your data, and you can file a complaint with a data protection supervisory authority.
